What is the MM2H fixed deposit requirement?
The fixed deposit depends on the tier: USD 1 million for Platinum, USD 500,000 for Gold, and USD 150,000 for Silver. The SEZ/SFZ option is lower — USD 65,000 for applicants aged 21 to 49, or USD 32,000 for those aged 50 and above.
How much property must I buy to qualify for MM2H?
The minimum property purchase is RM 2 million for Platinum, RM 1 million for Gold, and RM 600,000 for Silver. Under the SEZ/SFZ route the minimum is state-specific and follows the relevant SEZ guidelines.
How long is an MM2H visa valid?
Validity runs 20 years for Platinum, 15 years for Gold, 10 years for SEZ/SFZ and 5 years for Silver. All tiers are renewable multiple-entry visas.
What is the minimum age to apply for MM2H?
The minimum age is 25 for the Platinum, Gold and Silver tiers. The SEZ/SFZ option accepts applicants from age 21.
How much is the MM2H participation fee?
The participation fee is RM 200,000 for Platinum, RM 3,000 for Gold, and RM 1,000 for both Silver and SEZ/SFZ.
Can I work or run a business in Malaysia on an MM2H visa?
Only the Platinum tier permits business activities and employment. Gold, Silver and SEZ/SFZ participants are not allowed to work or conduct business activities under the visa.
Can I bring a foreign maid under MM2H?
Bringing a foreign maid is permitted under the Platinum tier only. It is not allowed under Gold, Silver or SEZ/SFZ.
What is the MM2H SEZ/SFZ option?
SEZ/SFZ is a special economic and financial zone route — Johor's Forest City is one example. It has the lowest entry requirements: from age 21, a USD 65,000 fixed deposit (USD 32,000 for those 50 and above), an RM 1,000 participation fee and 10 years validity, with a state-specific property minimum.
