News summary
KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd has welcomed visitors to Ombak KLCC, the latest component of the KLCC Precinct in Kuala Lumpur, marking the completion of the precinct's overall offerings. The mall has approximately 420,000 sq ft of net lettable area and has been curated to bring together arts, culture, lifestyle and leisure.
A cantilevered section of the mall will house Galeri PETRONAS, which will occupy approximately 126,356 sq ft. The gallery is slated to open in the fourth quarter of 2027, according to the report.
At the launch of a four-day National Day event themed Jiwa Merdeka on Friday, KLCC (Holdings) group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Salem Kailany said Ombak KLCC completes the whole KLCC Precinct in terms of offerings and offers completeness to KLCC, which he described as the soul of Kuala Lumpur. He said the mall is more than just another retail space, which is why it was themed around art and culture.
Ombak KLCC is part of the 100-acre KLCC Precinct, which KLCC (Holdings) manages along with the PETRONAS Twin Towers, Suria KLCC and the 50-acre KLCC Park.
From now until Aug 31, to celebrate Malaysia's 69th year of independence, the mall will host various events under the theme Jiwa Malaysia, featuring 69 activations across art, craft, food, music and community, including performances by Malaysian artistes.
